This medium-dark roast, carefully crafted at the precise moment of the 2nd crack, hails from the Chikmagalur growing region of Karnataka, a Southern state in India. Grown on family-owned farms at altitudes of 1067 to 1280 masl, this coffee features a delightful blend of Arabica varieties, including Selection 795, Selection 9, Catuai, and Cauvery.

What sets Indian Monsoon Malabar apart is its unmatched smoothness and mellow flavor, a result of the specialized monsooning process. This process, rooted in the coffee's historical journey from India to Europe, transforms the beans in size, shape, and color. Originally, coffee beans would undergo this natural transformation during long sea voyages, where high humidity and gusty sea breezes caused the beans to swell and turn a pale yellow. By the time they reached Europe, the beans had developed a smooth, mellow flavor that quickly gained popularity.

Today, this monsooning process is carefully replicated in warehouses, where the beans are exposed to similar elements to produce the same distinctive characteristics. The result is a coffee with predominant notes of baker's chocolate, finishing with a mild, creamy flavor that lingers on the palate.
