This limited-edition roast is a true treasure, combining single-origin beans from the celebrated Huehuetenango region of Guatemala with the bold twist of whiskey barrel-aging.

A Journey to Huehuetenango

Huehuetenango, Guatemala, is a region known for producing some of the world’s finest coffees. Nestled at altitudes of 1,800–2,000 MASL, 400 family-owned farms cultivate Bourbon, Catuai, and Caturra coffee varieties on nutrient-rich clay soils. These small farms, averaging just two acres each, are intercropped with corn and beans for sustainability. To overcome infrastructure challenges, the producers partner with Unitrade Coffee, which operates a centrally located wet mill to ensure quality processing.

Beyond coffee, Unitrade Coffee’s initiative, CoffeeCare, supports the farming communities by focusing on education, nutrition, and health, ensuring the next generation grows up in a healthy and supportive environment.

Whiskey Barrel Magic

To create this extraordinary coffee, we take these premium green beans and age them in steam-sterilized bourbon whiskey barrels for over 30 days. During this process, the beans absorb the subtle, complex flavors of charred oak and whiskey, creating a depth of character unlike any other. Once the aging process is complete, the coffee is roasted to a smooth, balanced medium profile, preserving the beans' natural brightness and medium body.
